Verses

Opening:

The sheep has given us his wool
And plants the color bright
Man forged needles out of steel
For me to knit by golden light
My fingers that knit, embroider, crochet
Can sew the seeds or cut the hay
They cast a seam or sew a stitch
They hammer or nail or dig a ditch
They can create an object of worth
Of color, of beauty of wonder of mirth
So let us go to work right now
And sew a stitch both me and thou.

Closing:

Now our time is over
Our work for now is done
Today our hands have served us well
Head heart hands are one

Verses

Opening:

My two hands are folded so straight on my chest
Crossing each other with right over left
I think of the trees crossing branches and twigs
Vines in the forest, legs dancing a jig
Window Panes, rafters and joists in the floor
Heros at battle cross, bright flashing swords.
Each cross-stitch I do
So careful and true
I mirror of the world in all that I do

Closing:

Now our time is over
Our work for now is done
Today our hands have served us well
Head heart hands are one

Verses

Opening ( reverent and pull the stars in on this one - they step up)
From as far as the stars
To where I stand
I've come to use
My right and left hand
To card, to fluff, to wind to knit
For work so fine my hands are fit
Let's sit

Closing:
My work for now has ended,
what I have learned will rest,
I thank you hands both left and right,
for helping me do my best.

Verses

Opening:

This is little Tommy Thumb, Round and smooth like any plum
This is Peter Pointer, Surely he's a double jointer
This is a mighty toby tall; He’s the biggest of them all
This is dainty Ruby Ring, Much too fine for many things.
This is little baby, so tiny and so shy,
All the five we’ve counted now, busy fingers in a row
Each one knows the way to go
How to work and how to play
But together they work the best
Each one helping all the rest

Clean-up Song

I've heard a little gnomie say
It's time to put your work away.
Wind up your balls, Pick up lost threa
And quietly put, Your handwork to bed

Closing:
My fingers are so sleepy,
It's time they went to bed.
First you Little Baby, Tuck in your tiny head.
Ruby Ring, now it's your turn.
 Next comes Toby Great.
Peter Pointer hurry Because it's getting late.
Let's see if they're all nestled,
No! - there's just one more to come,
Move over please and make room For Mr. Tommy Thumb

Duct-tape dressform

Noah and I made a duct tape dress form today. After taping we used foam core instead of a hanger to hold the shape of the shoulders.
